The HEAT Project Seminar
The Homicide Education and Training Project, LLC is dedicated to the present and future education and advancement of law enforcement personnel involved in the discipline of death and violent crime investigation. The Project recognizes the thousands of persons involved in the complicated and difficult job of death investigation and the effective, impressive and outstanding investigations and cases put together every day on multitudes of homicide crimes by agencies throughout the nation and the world. The loss of life, any life, deserves the best and most professional effort that law enforcement agencies can provide. Human behavior, scientific and technological applications, legal requirements, and investigative principles make up the complex operation of homicide investigation. Investigations can be intricate and the effects of mistakes of listless and indifferent investigations can be far reaching. It is for this reason that The Project has developed a program that will offer comprehensive information regarding the art and science of homicide and violent crime investigation.
A 5-day seminar will include a discussion of the elements that comprise any homicide investigation, on any scale. The final two days of the seminar will consist of a homicide case practicum. During this part of the training, the participant will apply these elements to a case investigation that will involve decisions and time constraints experienced during an actual investigation.
This will be a unique training opportunity not available before through any homicide investigation course. Further information will be released later this year.
